Guest Blog Post; Cardiff Invitations

By special invitation….

Cardiff Invitations gives us their opinion on what hot in wedding stationery for 2011.

Your wedding stationery is your guest’s first impression of your special day so you want it to hit the right note.

Pocketfold invitations were very popular in 2010 and this is set to continue in 2011. The key attraction for these invitations is that you can easily include RSVP cards or additional information. Check out our pocketfold invitations here.

The colour trends for 2011 are vibrant and bold colours that make an impact.  Cadbury purple is a perfect example of this. As shown with our Diamante invitation above, it really gives the wow factor.

Coral will be one of the big colours for summer 2011 weddings, see our Quartz invite below.

Our final big tip for wedding stationery for 2011 is monogram invitations. These invitations are simple but stylish and totally personal to you! What more could a bride
want, so if you like the designs below check out our full range at our website.

Now a couple of questions, we often get asked:

In your opinion should couples send ‘save the date’ cards?
I think it depends on the situation. If your wedding is more than a year away, is on a popular date (eg bank holiday or will require more notice for guests (eg is on a weekday or involves travel) then I would recommend sending save the dates.

How far in advance should a couple order their stationery?
If a couple has seen a design they like, I would always recommend making contact straight away to discuss availability as particularly in busy periods you don’t want to disappointed.
Otherwise I would suggest 5 months before the wedding with a view to sending out 2-3 months before the wedding.

What’s your biggest tip when it comes to wedding stationery?
I would say invest some time into finding a supplier and design that you really love, as your invitations are the first impression of your special day for all your family and friends – so make it a good one!
Also don’t feel bad about discussing your requirements with your supplier to ensure you get what you want.
